Point is, has anyone had sustained success betting sports often/for any extended period of time?
I sure don't know any poor bookies or broke arse casinos.

I was down like $2500 near the end of 2019 until the NFL playoffs and LSU’s run down the stretch. I finished the year up $1900, but got lucky as shite with the Titans ML against the Pats and Ravens and Vikings ML against NO and the SF FB scoring
I do it more as a hobby to make games I wouldn’t typically care too much about a bit more exciting. I typically bet $50/$100 a play and then will throw down more if I’m up.
Not a chance I could ever rely on it as a source of income.

Then, learn to enjoy the Wins, even though you bet peanuts. The losses won't hurt too bad because, again, you're betting in amounts of what is "just peanuts" to you.
The mood swings between winning and losing just aren't worth it.

I never bet an amount so large that if I lose it will legitimately ruin my mood.
Yeah I’ll be butthurt, especially if it’s some wild beat that would never go my way in a million years, but the emotional ride during the game is basically worth the price of admission for me.

I bet horse races and can turn a profit with some regularity. It takes a lot of patience to wait for the right situation. I find a playable race about once every three days, and that's analyzing every track in North America. Theoretically I could scale up my bets and make some serious money but trying to make a living at it would involve a whole other level of pressure. It's taken me about 15 years to get to this point. I think I could do the same with sports betting but I'm not willing to put in the time and effort even though some of what I've already learned would probably translate over.

This. If you're doing it for the thrill, you're on your way to being a compulsive gambler. If you can approach it more like solving a puzzler, you may be able to control it.

Use your winnings to buy Heroin.
When you lose, shoot up the Heroin.

Honest touts will tell you they can't guarantee they can help you win, but they will help you lose more slowly.

What do you mean??? A guy on my radio says all I have to do is call him up and he guarantees me s a winner.
I’ve used him several times and when I lose, he gives me another winner at no extra charge. You should try it,

This certainly applies. That $4400 I was up from a few weeks worth of $100 bets now has me stuck -$1700. I’ve seen the swing on a small scale for the past year or so and to those who lose and all that’s left is hindsight and regret, I kinda get it. It’s a false shot of adrenaline and confidence to win a few, and the loses maybe endless excuses/close calls/flukes.
Enough of that new hobby.
TL/DR :kennabruh is clearing with the bookie and moving back to the monthly low limit casino NL hold em games.

My downfall was when I started thinking I could consistently win 3-4 team parlays. Won a couple and thought I was invincible. Dumb. But man, those payouts are nice when you do hit.
I’ve learned that making 1 or 2 single bets is the best way to go.

Triple on the no. If you’re up, you just haven’t been playing long enough.
It’s a hobby, NOT a profession. Some hunt, some fish, some let their kids play travel ball, some pick a very reasonable unit bet and play a few games week.
The rest eventually lose their arse and hate themselves for it.

If you want to do multiple games you need to split up that $100 rather than expanding it. We just got sports betting in the last few years and the ban on web based betting tat was in the legalization bill is up in mid-2021. I can recognize the problem (highly addictive personality) and will likely load my account for a season and if it runs out, it runs out.
I spent $80 in Vegas last January (so I'm not the biggest expert.) $20 on the Saints, $20 on the Patriots, $20 on the Chiefs (let my kid pick one), and $20 on the Bucks to win the eastern conference (other kid's bet.) Flipped the winnings from NE on a Rams/under minutes after the game. Lost $148 on there Teams not making it close...it was one of the most miserable 4th quarters of the past 5 years for me. Perhaps because it was hard to top the sights and sounds in the sportsbook during the AFCCG.

I won more betting LSU football than I lost betting NFL last season

Are you the guy that starts a thread every time you win $20 at roulette?

Very true.
I just don’t see how easy it is to lose. You have several games to pick from and you get to pick the side you want. And when you hit a losing streak, it’s like you don’t have the confidence to put your shoes on right.
