I just assumed you lived in New Orleans considering how much time you spend in these NOLA threads.

how was your trip to Boston that you emailed asking me for advice on? I'm assuming you didn't get attacked from behind and robbed.

We're heading up there in a couple weeks but going to NYC instead because I had the wrong dates for the Red Sox they're going to be away while we're there so going to catch the Mets and Yanks instead.

I will be making another trip when the Sox are in town so your advice will not go unappreciated

You get so personally offended to find me here, and you wonder why I always comment in these threads?

Rustling people from New Orleans' jimmies is much more entertaining than work.

Pretty much just seems like some weird coping mechanism to make you feel better about leaving

I really don't. You just seem to really ha e a vested interest in New Orleans.

It's the people that don't even live in the city that jimmies are rustled the most. I think Nola people are quite chill.

It's exactly what Nurse does every time there's a thread about Baton Rouge or Louisiana.

What would be worse? Certainly not murders. N. O. has the highest rate in the country.

The people that come to this conference generally are between age 30-40 and are successful. They also like to go out and have a good time.

I will tell them the same thing I told them three years ago, last time it was here, and it's the same thing I tell anyone visiting.

1) Stay on the main streets. Stay in very well lit areas.

2) Never go alone, and if you can help it, never go just with two people. Have at least three people go. The more the better.

3) Never take a drink from anyone on the street. Get your drinks from a bar.

4) Bring only the cash you think you will need, one credit card if you need it, your ID, and your phone. Guys, put your wallet and phone in your front pocket. Ladies, if you can, keep the purse at home. Screw bringing makeup, you will be fine. If you can, get a guy in your group to hold your stuff in his pockets.

5) Keep control of yourself. Have fun, but don't drink so much that you lose control of your environment. To the extent you can, don't look like a drunken tourist.

On the night that those two muggings occured, which are horrible and can not be defended or ignored, thousands of people went out and had a great, trouble-free time in the city. Let's not forget that.

You do realize the fact that you have to give advice like this is the problem, yes? That sounds like advice I'd expect in Juarez.

Of course I do. I have family there, ties there, got married there.

Would love to have the opportunity to move back to LA and be in NOLA one day, but that's just never going to happen at the rate the city is trending.

Also, as I said, it's just too much fun to trigger posters like you and LNCHBOX.

Why is it that so many seemingly want Nola to fail? Can this be explained to me

It amazes Scruffy how people who live in NOLA just disregard the absolute violence that permeates that city.

New Orleans is in a select group as one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It is actually statistically more dangerous than Detroit. It joins the ranks of many fine cities in Columbia, South Africa, and Mexico.

Get off that list and New Orlenians will have ground to defend their city.

Yeah, at least most big cities protect their tourist centers. But not Mitch. He wants the whole world to get a taste of real local culcha.

It amazes Scruffy how the citizens of this city don't want it to improve.
