Victim blaming!

I never posted anything blaming the victims. They definitely did not deserve what happened to them.

I am trying to point out that the media reports don't add up.

Some of you jumped to "confusions" and assumed I was victim blaming instead of considering what I was really pointing out.

Why is it that so many seemingly want Nola to fail? Can this be explained to me

That's not what's happening. People are sad what it's become.

New Orleans as a whole is better off now than it was before Katrina.

You're comparing the inhuman violence in Juarez to the petty crimes in NOlA?

The inmates aren't running the zoo just yet in Nola.

If you can't agree that Nola is better off as a whole than it was before Katrina then you're an idiot and I don't know what to tell scruffy

This is from back in April. Mitch mu frickin doing work!

Juárez is once again one of the most dangerous cities in the world, according to a group that releases annual rankings.

The Citizens Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice, a Mexican think tank, has ranked Juárez 37th out of the 50 most violent cities worldwide with a population of more than 300,000. The ranking comes after Juárez had fallen off the list last year.

Juárez was among eight Mexican cities on the list, which included Acapulco in the No. 2 spot. The most violent city in the world was Caracas, Venezuela. Four U.S. cities also made the list, including St. Louis, Mo., Baltimore, Md., New Orleans, La., and Detroit, Mich. They ranked 14, 26, 34 and 36, respectively.

Frick you Juarez. NOLA is just better than you.

I'm not saying NOLA is as bad at Juarez, but I'm saying Juarez has taken a hit because of unchecked violence.

And I think beating and robbing people is hardly petty.

In what metrics is New Orleans clearly better off? Just curious.

It's the same thing it's always been, just a bunch of pussies overreacting to something they saw

Not as easy to argue that as you thought, eh? My response would probably be about restaurants and breweries.

It's not that. If you lived here you would know what I'm talking about. Even if you visited every now and then you would agree. If you Have to ask the. It's not not worth my time to explain it to you. Most people agree

Yes and schools, housing, apartments, condos, hospitals, drainage projects, flood protection, some roads are getting repaired, I could keep going.

Still have a long way to go with fighting crime, police force, crooked politicians, pot holes, but as a whole it's much better than it was in 2004-2005

Look at the video then look at a map.

The initial on air reports said they were walking from Bourbon St to their hotel room. No report said they were walking to a car in a parking lot.

I'm definitely more careful here than I would feel the need to be in other places. That said I'm not fearful in my everyday life or anything. Crime is obviously a huge problem, although some on here act like it's a good bit more dangerous than it actually is IMO.

I love NOLA but it's definitely not for everyone.
