I just got home from working in Arizona a couple days ago. Back in Texas. Thank God it was just a job and I don't live there.

While I was there, I noticed you're allowed to buy fast food with food stamps. McDonald's, Taco Bell, all of them.

I don't think this is right at all. How is that even legal?

Opinions?

It's not really any different than being able to buy frozen food as far as I'm concerned

Food stamps should be like WIC tho

People spend a ton of money going out to eat. This is teaching poor people bad financial habits. Teach them to cook. This causes them to save money and be healthier.

Whether I eat out or at the house, my food spending is about the same. So if the argument is about expense I don’t see it.

I'll accept a tax increase if we can offer a lifetime supply of EBT in exchange for sterilization.

this isn't the worst, many go to local market, where Ahmed is the owner, and is giving them cash for the cards. Giving them pennies on the dollar for their wic and ebt cards.

Now they have cash, so cigs, cigars, and candy are options.

If they restrict what the cards can buy they will sell them to some local cafe who will use them to buy staple goods

The fast food industry has some good lobbyists in Arizona.

I agree with it.

How else would their relatives get paid? It's a well thought out circle.

There needs to be major reform in the EBT program on whats allowed to be bought with welfare and food stamps. Should be bread, milk, eggs, rice, fruit, veggies and non-delicacy raw meats such as pork, chicken, ground beef, turkey and ham. No steaks, boiled seafood, junk food, soda, TV dinners, or fast food.

ETA: I’m fine with people who need help getting it, but I’m tired of seeing taxpayer funded baskets full of expensive items, junk food, and frozen meals paid for with SNAP

There are a lot of poor and overweight latinos in states bordering Mexico. San Antonio, Phoenix and Albuquerque main source of food is greasy taquitos from Whataburger.

It should be that way but it will never happen. The screaming liberals will cry that's racist for some ungodly reason like always.

No. Fast food is not healthy and it's extremely expensive compared to cooking in bulk.

They should be forced to buy the grind meat in the tube!
