You know she was a local reporter, right?
Not a real job.

She was a news anchor.

That is basically an actor who can’t act.

Moreno will at least show up for the job and try to make the city functional. Some of you have no idea how bad LaToya has been since Covid. She’s done absolutely nothing but travel and show up for a few photo ops.

I'm guessing the "folks cheering" in NO proper is much smaller than you imply.

Why?

There are about 260,000 registered voters in New Orleans. LINK

In 2021 Cantrell got 51,342 votes in the runoff, that's less than 20% of registered voters.

It's not like Cantrell is wildly popular, it's just that the majority of voting citizens in New Orleans don't have any confidence in the system to produce a capable candidate who isn't a crook.

She killed someone while speeding and was read her Miranda rights for vehicular homicide but the case went away without any real investigation and the local media protected their own.,

The driver she hit ran a red light. Her speeding was not the cause of the crash, that was determined by investigators. It didn’t just go away.

You need to present the whole story.

I have no dog in the fight, not from New Orleans have no vote to give.

However, Thomas will win on the platform of “I’m black”. He will be a hair better than Latoya and serve two terms due to that, and eight years from now the process will begin anew.

Thomas’ conviction is the least of his problems.

In New Orleans, a felony gives you a boost in the polls.

In fairness I also thought Sid Edwards didn’t have a chance, so I hope I’m wrong again.

Agreed. But in some personal dealings with him, I feel Thomas could be a legit retard.

Don't look at me, I don't live in New Orleans, I can't vote for their mayor and I sure as hell am not going to move there. New Orleans will just have to become a bigger shithole.

What I actually would like to happen is for all of the Republicans to move to BR and all of the Democrats from BR to move to NO. We can each build our own utopias.

Shreveport elected a white Republican mayor. It also has a functioning criminal justice system.

17 she was in a runoff, not 21. No one even really ran against her in 21
