Last year Uber shared maps and animations that showed an UberAir ride from DFW Airport to Frisco. The ride would take over an hour in a regular Uber car while it would take only eight minutes in an UberAir.

It's not even an hour to McKinney and that's past Frisco.

What about peak traffic times? I am assuming that’s what they are talking about.

Are takeoff and launching pads like runways? I'd think that a flying car could takeoff and land from a road.

Maybe 45-50 minutes in the worst traffic.

It's a 30 minute drive from DFW to my old place in McKinney. And that was 10 minutes past Frisco.

Honestly, while it can get shitty at times I think the only way it would take that long is if there was a wreck or a bunch of construction slowing things down.

I would watch the Baton Rouge implementation from a secure bunker in Livonia.

This has potential. You could live in Hoover, and work in Atl.

Looks like they modeled it after the Osprey helicopters that are notorious for crashing....genius.

Yea... I'm not so sure about the Osprey. Granted, this isn't trying to fly into or out of combat so maybe the military version's problems were around armor/weight/speed.

Anyone got specs or vids of these vehicles actually flying. Not computer models.

Yeah that drive is one of the smoother drives in DFW

You'll get a little backup around 35 through to the colony, but that's really it.

Are you the employee that brings problems, or solutions?

This is a really cool idea and I'm excited that Dallas is supporting the innovation. Of course there are details to work out, but those will come with time. I applaud the creativity.

Any idea of the pricing? I would think ~$150 for a one-way?

Anything less than 80 on any toll road and you're slowing down traffic.

Question: Would you have to drive somewhere to get into this thing or can it pick you up anywhere?

Probably like a train station. Drive to a hub. This thing then has 2 or 3 landing stations inside the city. You walk from there.

Until someone flies a drone into it, yeah. Probably so. I wonder what counter-measures they are planning? You already know that shite is going to happen.

Pie in the sky. Wait until fuel goes up a bit. Then all this buck Rogers crap takes a breather. Hovering and ubber are two things thst won’t mix well.
