You will really go to any lengths not to blame actual law breakers and criminals won’t you?

Feel free to point out where I said the kids weren't responsible.

I'll give you a hint: you can't.

Of course they're responsible. It's like no one here can think beyond a high school level and come to the conclusion that it's a really stupid idea to leave an expensive place vulnerable.

You literally posted this.

What $8,000,000 property doesn't have any kind of security system? At that point, this is the owners fault.

Did the article say the house was unlocked? There is no link in the OP.

I have no idea. It's pretty simple though. If there was a forced entry, no alarm was sent. That or the police just didn't give a shite, which I find hard to believe in a place with that kind of value.

The point I was making is that the owner made some really dumb decision here that led to this. I should have known that the point would have been missed by most. Not saying you, just in general.

Nuance just isn't the strong suit here.

Let me simplify. The kids are responsible for breaking in. The owner is responsible for not protecting their property.

When homes are for sale, are the alarms typically set? Every separate agent that goes into the house would have to disarm and rearm the alarm every time the house was shown.

She was just asking for it. Did you see the skirt she was wearing? It's her fault, really.

If I had an 8,000,000 home filled with expensive stuff, the alarm better be set. You really think there's that much traffic for an 8 million dollar property?

Leave it to the OT to equate rape to not protecting your property.

Should be, yes. The house I bought had a set alarm and it was a hell of lot less than $8 million.

At that price point it’s not like you have 10 showings a day. Not difficult to pass along a code

Btw- that doesn’t excuse these criminals.

You really think the owners were the last ones in that house before Kid N Play showed up?

Hmmm...sounds like what I said, almost word for word. No, that can't be true, because the brilliant baws of the OT say so.

What happens to your security system when a house is on the MLS?

Leave it to out resident lefties to blame the property owner for criminals breaking into someone's house. I'm sure you're also the one lecturing everyone how it's not a right to shoot criminals breaking in your house because you failed to secure it properly. Clown world.

Go drive your car to downtown NOLA and leave it unlocked. Let me know how that works out for you. It's not your fault it'll be stolen, right?

Except I want these kids prosecuted for breaking and entering. It’s inexcusable, regardless of the stupidity of not having an alarm set
