Do you want to know how to bankrupt a municipal government in a few hours? This is how you do it.

That crazy fringe 1% of the new special deputies whose liability is now shifted to the county could destroy it.

it's politics 2020. we have a TON of really shitty politicians out there pandering for votes ahead of this fall.

Thank you. Was about to say the same thing. We're not going on a date with him, we're discussing something he said about protesters in that area.

I'm guessing he only has a loose familiarity 42 USC §1983 when he promises to make deputies/state-actors out of a bunch of untrained people with guns.

I love how people are freaking out over this. He's saying if things get out of control to the point public safety is in jeopardy, he wouldn't hesitate to take measures to counter the threat. Knowing the local chief LEO supports the peoples' right to defend themselves should mean a lot to most citizens.

Would the situation be more palatable if he said 'Let them have that section of town. People living there will probably be okay. This could be The Summer Of Love.'

woah, be careful putting the posse on a pedestal.

I had to go assist a constable evict some squatters from a buddy's property Tuesday. They didn't have enough deputies to assist the amount of people that finally were able to be evicted this week.

So y'all endorse cops who abuse their power and maliciously arrest fellow law enforcement officers? Dude is the poster child for shitty people in positions of authority, and he's literally pandering to y'all right now. Shall I start posting pics of him bragging about drug raids that yielded no drugs or under an ounce of marijuana?

There has been 1, maybe 2 peaceful marches. 0 with any damage. 1 definitely was in the town of orange park, so not even his jurisdiction. Amazed the OT swallows his bullshite hook, line, and sinker.

Protesters that don't even exist. But don't let that stop you from looking past all his misdeeds.

another example of how to bankrupt a municipal government in a matter of hours is CHAZ/CHOP. Allow a bunch of crazy communist pushing Antifa Lefties to close off several public blocks of a major US city for weeks at a time. Vandalizing public and personal property. Ruining business within said area. And making the lives of those working and living in the area hell.

then have your arse sued by 100+ businesses because you wanted to foster a "summer of love" and prove the big bag orange man wrong.

No idea. I don't think anyone protesting would be in danger of anything like that- because protesters that can't be handled by the police aren't protesters, they are rioters.

Wait... how exactly am I being hypocritical? And you know I put a question mark there. It's literally what separates a statement from a query

I’m not worried about people knowing how to use a gun. I’m worried about every tom dick and Harry getting an itchy trigger finger and knowing WHEN to use a gun.

That seems to be a MUCH greater issue in the "unlawful" gun owner community.

In other words- some have been pushing the "wild west" argument in the faces of lawful gun owners since concealed carry hit the books. And it's always been a myth.
