This pretty much sums up Florida
quote:

A Florida mayor, who is suspected of practicing medicine without a license, was charged with two counts of attempted homicide Thursday after shooting at deputies who were serving a search warrant at his home
quote:

Dale Glen Massad, mayor of Port Richey, fired two rounds at Pasco County Sheriff SWAT team members after they announced themselves while approaching his house Thursday morning
quote:

He said his office used the SWAT team to serve the warrant because Massad, 68, is a known drug-user and weapons-owner with a history of violence.
quote:

"We knew this was going to be a very dangerous situation, which it did turn out to be,"
quote:

When the officers saw that Massad had a gun, they told him to drop the weapon; he then fired
quote:

No officers were injured or struck.
quote:

The arrest was the result of a four-month investigation that uncovered Massad, who lost his medical license in 1992, was allegedly practicing medicine out of his home

Probably practicing “holistic” medicine out of his house. Thought the SWAT team were big pharma special forces coming to shut him down.

It baffles me that armed no knock raids of homes has become the norm. We don’t even notice the absurdity anymore.

He’s wanted for practicing medicine without a license, not sex slavery. Why create a dangerous and volatile situation by storming a defensible structure instead of, oh, I don’t know, waiting for him to walk out the door to go grocery shopping?

How did they announce themselves? Like gave the guy a few moments to let it register in OR announced a half second before the ram knocks the door down?? Big difference in really knowing who you are dealing with

We don’t know, therefore we likely shouldn’t speculate like we do

This is a great fricking point.

They know he's got a ton of guns at his house and is violent. This was stupid AF. Sometimes I think cops want to play soldier with all their fancy toys.

I wonder what time this took place.

Thursday morning is different than 130am on Thursday.

Yeah like the raid on the trump campaign old man that cnn was just "driving by" one early morning.

But jussie fruit was allowed to roll in the back door (pun intended) of the police station at 5am to avoid the drama/media.

Pull the dude over on his way somewhere for sure. SWAT needing work to do I guess.

You don't want this either because of a chase possibility. Just wait until he gets out of his car somewhere and tackle the dude.
