Bingo. If I'm shooting up a school, club, etc. I'm packing a shotgun.

An ex going to the police and making shite up.
Pissing a dickhead cop off.
Pissing off a doctor, or pissing off someone who has a doctor friend.

I can keep going. All will result in the loss of my firearms under your "plan."

But in any case, you falling back on the "if you're not doing anything wrong, what do you have to worry about" line is rather telling in how you view the world.

This thread is filled with knowledgeable gun people, and one complete fricking idiot who refuses to dive into the minutiae of gun control because he knows he’s going to get arse raped worse than Richard Simmons in jail.

maybe so, but they are the guns of choice, and, as a byproduct of that choice, the guns we need to look at restricting from falling into just anyone's hands... again, i'm not for banning these weapons...

if shotguns were to be the gun of choice, then we can address those then... would be much harder to make an argument to ban those, i concede, and i actually would probably be very opposed to making them any more restricted, to be honest....

No. You’re trying to limit every single gun type except muzzle loaders and crack barrels by your own definition.

Why won’t you dive into the minutiae?

What about Virginia Tech, sure wasn't the gun of choice.

which is why i said panel... wouldn't be just one person... you'd have to have a lot of collusion going against you for a few independent practitioners to vote against you...

and any fraud by said practitioners, either going for or against the potential gun owner, would be dealt with swiftly and harshly... fines, loss of license, restitution to society, jail, etc...

Read this again. Then again. Then again.

Your logic is that we just keep banning weapons based on who is using them. What happens when we ban all firearms, and these people move on to using vehicles, bombs, etc.?

You know why your logic fails again and again?

Because you're addressing the tool, not the problem.

What mental illnesses?

What’s the appeals process?

How long?

Is there an inherit bias against or for guns in the group in power?

Is this going to be abused?

Not at all. One phone call and the cops come and take your guns, then it’s on YOU to prove that you’re capable to get them back. That’s how red flag laws work, hoss.

And if you think that panel isn't going to support their peers, you're a naive fool.

I mean you see this every day already.

As in banning them?

Would this panel be able to use the same standard across the board to keep these "sketchy people" from getting these guns you are talking about?

This one size fits all assumption you have will never work.

the weapons will still be there... i'm not saying ban the weapons... i'm saying ban those deemed to be too dangerous or irresponsible from those weapons, if need be... big difference....

You have not even the faintest idea as how an AR-15 of AK-47 can be legally described without the description matching a myriad of other guns. We would lose over half of the guns on the market.

Also, you can't describe an AR-15 to include all of the variants, some of them more dangerous than the standard AR.
