I was approached about a job opportunity, and can work semi-remote but for it to make sense my family would likely need to live along the Atlantic Ocean side.

Based on my research looks like 3 of the best alternatives (assuming I'm not a millionaire) are:

Jacksonville

Jupiter/PB Gardens

Miami/Coral Gables

Any feedback on any of these 3 options?

Some friends from RI were in Jacksonville temporarily and still talk about how much they loved it.

What’s the difference in living in Miami vs Naples or Jacksonville? I’m not sure I follow the logic and think you might be selling yourself short on some of the Western side cities.

It sucks, but not compared to Rhode Island.

Haha. Where they live in RI is actually really nice. I enjoy it up there.

I'd be semi remote so will still have to commute to one of several offices and do client visits. All of those are up and down the Eastern side of Florida.

That Brightline train they have running from WPB to Miami looks pretty great as well.

Depends whether you'd rather live next to Russian mobsters or Florida Man.

Jacksonville is the redneck riviera

Jupiter is a Boring retirement community

Unless you are independently wealthy, Miami is not a good place to live with a family.

Broward and Palm Beach County are nice. Florida Keys for the win if you have a remote job.

If I'm moving from Baton Rouge to Jacksonville, I find it hard to believe that city is more redneck than my current surroundings.

You probably won’t like what you can afford there.

I wonder when the last time a lot of y'all were in Jacksonville. The downtown is horrible, but the Beaches area and a couple other spots (Riverside, San Marco) are really nice, low in crime, and not redneck at all.

Jacksonville the city is not too much different than most cities. The beach ares around Jacksonville area are not anything special.

Most people from around that area head up to the Georgia coast or further down the atlantic coast.
