Floating / Sensory Deprivaton Therapy

I am considering giving this a shot. Anyone have experiences? There is a place here in BR that does it and I am trying to do a little research to see what I can expect.
I would be doing it for mental / psychological reasons not physical fwiw. The little I have read is that it really allows for you to get inside your own head.

I've never had the problem of having too much money and not knowing what to spend it on, so no, I've never tried it.

Either would probably be worth the money if I am being honest with myself.

Did it a couple years ago. Huge fricking waste of money. Save your money and buy some THC oil.

All I know is that Joe Rogan has a huge hard on for floating. Probably should refer to one of his segments on YouTube

I like them a lot. I try to go once a month. With all the constant distractions bombarding us these days it’s nice to press the mental reset button. The general feeling of wellbeing kicks in shortly after leaving and lasts for a while. You’ll find yourself thinking more clearly and deeply and less addicted to every beep and blip of your iPhone.

The ones with the pods are better.
I've been to the one in the BR last time I was in town. I think it's on Jefferson called Fleauxt (you guys have to get over the the whole eaux thing, it's gay and is f'd out).
Fleuxt has the big bathtub style but you just keep bumping into the walls and it puts you back in your mind. Plus they play spa music.
I've been to one in Jacksonville that has the horizontal pods, totally dark, totally quiet. That's the kind you want.
It feels great. I think the salt helps relax you too. It is a nice thing to do every two or three months. Not as intense as a massage but still very satisfying with the extra deep relaxation. But you do get that relaxed feeling similar to a massage.
To me it isn't a waste of money, it's like a cross between mediation and massage and if you can snag a Groupon, not too expensive.

At night, I just break into the local funeral home and lay in one of the unused coffins for a few hours. It pretty much does the same thing, and doesn't cost me a dime.
