Flight attendant pay linked to dress size

In 2016 the company decided to link the pay of its flight attendants to their dress size. All the flight attendants were photographed, measured and some were weighed. Women above a Russian size 48 were barred from international flights. According to the flight attendants’ trade union the policy affected about 600 Aeroflot attendants. The company successfully defended itself in court in April 2017 by saying that a survey of Aeroflot passengers showed that “92% want to see stewardesses who fit into the clothes sizes we are talking about here” and that every extra kilogramme meant spending an extra 800 roubles per year on fuel. The company denied all the accusations of discrimination. In September 2017 the appeal court decided that requirements banning employment by women who wore large sizes was unenforceable and ordered compensation for Yevgenia Magurina, a flight attendant who filed a discrimination suit. Two women were awarded token compensation, but the court did not rule explicitly that the policy was discriminatory.

Everyone knows looks are the only real thing women bring to the table. I support Attractiveness-based pay for women.

Yeah, these days if I have an even halfway decent looking flight attendant, it’s noteworthy. The only ones these days who seem to put any effort in their appearance are the gay flight attendants.

US is the only country that that I know of that has unattractive flight attendants. Most dimes Work international flights - the best I’ve ever seen was a Virgin airline flight from London to Prague.

a lot of the foreign carriers only hire hotties, on a contract basis, and if the hotness fade away, the contract is not renewed, sort of like it used to be here, until... lawyers, WN used to hire only hotties and their uniform was hot pants and go-go boots, if they got married, got fat, or got 26 they were out as sky sluts

The ones on my LAN flight many years ago were definitely fun to look at.
Frankly it was just a damn fine flight period in all respects. New plane, real silverware, etc. Beat the hell out of US domestic carriers.
