It’s not just civic pride. A majority of the people in this state have no pride in themselves. They’re trashy, lower class poor people who are overweight with shitty, ill-mannered children. They have no sense of decorum or class- other
Than low class. They revel in it and refuse to do better. It’s disgusting.

Not the true NOlA experience. The Charger on the interstate did not start shooting at you.

Go back and try again.

But blame this on the airlines for contracting out loading and unloading the baggage and not providing any benefits or even decent pay for the backbreaking work that requires. I was looking for a temp job right when I got out of the Army before I went to college and applied to one of the positions at MSY and the pay was like $10/hr. with no committed days off or schedule. Don't blame anyone who doesn't want to do that job because as soon as I heard that I said "thanks for your time" and walked out.
Basically, you have the same crowd who works at Popeye's running the show at the airport.

Same. It’s one of the best airports to travel in and out of these days.

It’s more a commentary of this state.

Every time I visit another locale and return to Louisiana, I ask myself why do I stay here. The crime is the big kicker. But alas, I have reasons I cannot drag up and leave like I’d want to.

This. We forget, don't realize, or choose to ignore the reality that other places do not have all of these problems. There are really nice areas where we could live and not be miserably hot all year and not be constantly fearful of crime, and yet we stay.

It's my family keeping me here.

New Orleans is a complete shitehole. I don’t think it is fair to equate New Orleans with the whole of Louisiana. Louisiana has a lot of problems mostly caused by the ignorant and the democrat party, but New Orleans is on a whole other level. I wish I didn’t have to pass through New Orleans to get to Chalmette or Port Sulphur.

I just thank baby Jesus every time I fly out of MSY that I don’t have to drive through New Orleans to get there.

I adhered to this "go nowhere, do nothing" mentality regarding our living situation because of family and am pissed at myself for not leaving sooner.

I eventually realized that it's my life and I don't want to start a family and raise children in New Orleans or quite frankly, Louisiana in general. Now I live in a nicer house and anywhere I go I am met with pleasant, patient people not the New Orleans attitude that is pervasive everywhere there. Roads are better, scenery is better, and the city/state is not actively nickel and diming you at every turn. I can go downtown and park for free and walk around and not have to worry about being mugged, carjacked, stabbed, shot at, etc.

For years it was said that New Orleans is a great place to visit but a shitty place to live. Now it's not even a great place to visit.

I, and id venture to say tens of thousands of others, have left the Louisiana hellscape over the last few years…. Most people could do the same , but are too lazy and unmotivated to do so .

I feel like after Soros paid BLM to destroy cities, he’s now paying “homeless” panhandlers to demoralize everyone
