Anyone been through these FL checkpoints coming from LA? How did it go? What did they do or ask?

Bonus question - Under what authority are they requiring all cars to stop? The Governors press release said you can be stopped and cited if you go around the check point.

I stole a license plate in the Walmart parking lot and breezed right through. Coughing on vegetables in Publix right now.

Don’t say that. Down in the lower keys we are trying to stay away from the madness. Although it’s hard and New Yorkers are arriving daily.

I legit thought about trying to rent an island I know on marathon for 2 weeks or so when all this was getting started. Hoping for the best but..spring break and Mardi gras lining up with this shite was a bad combo.

As someone that lives in a tourist destination in the panhandle, you have no idea WTF you’re talking about. Enjoy your nightmare casting though!

Are the checkpoints only on interstates? Just curious if someone would be able to get off i10 in Alabama then take rural roads into Georgia and come in Florida from the north

They enforce this by getting the info on where you’re going and making random phone calls to the location to make sure you’re there. If you don’t answer they’ll hunt you down.

No need to go to Georgia. There are a lot of smaller roads that cross the Alabama-Florida border.

I happened to be in Pensacola dealing with a family emergency when the order came out. Drove home today.

The State Police diverted all inbound traffic into the Florida Welcome Center on I-10. They were interviewing every car that came in to the state

Massive effort for an honor system quarantine. It’s not like closing the beaches two weeks ago would have had a more direct affect but hey it’s the Louisiana people who may be the problem.

Crack down? Everything is closed. What more do you think other states are doing that isn’t happening here?
