My point was that you don’t have to necessarily be religious to know that homosexuality isn’t the norm and is deviant. Was I using an extreme way to illustrate it? Sure, but the point remains.

Hey, a-hole, when I was in elementary school the only time I remember knowing anything about my teacher's personal lives is when my 3rd Grade teacher got pregnant and took 3 months of maternity leave. That's pretty much the only thing relevant to your job.

What if his partner is not a male, but a female with a penis? Is that still considered a homosexual relationship?

I still believe that's the case with most of them, it's just the evil and bad offenders have ruined it for everyone. There's a reason Trump's gay vote went from 14% in 2016 to 30% in 2020. It more than doubled since all those people wanted was to be recognized as equals in the eyes of the law.
Now these flamers and groomers want to be able to strip you from your kid if you don't raise them the exact way they would. I'm betting Trump or DeSantis gets 40%+ of the LGBT vote in 2024 if they keep this up, since every sane gay person I can think of is fine with the bill.

I am more socially liberal than most of the mouth breathers on this site. I have zero problem with this bill. Kids should not be exposed to that content at a young age ever in school.

Desantis picks good fights because the backlash raises additional questions, as in, why are these teachers so upset that they can't talk about sexuality with first graders?
Putting activists and teachers (and activist teachers) in the position of saying "yeah but we won't be able to explain our lifestyles to 8 year olds or talk to them about their preferences!" is great for parents and sane people who go "wait, why do you need to do either of those things?"

I teach high school. I discuss very little of my personal life with my students - and nothing of my dating life. Discussing things like that blurs the boundary between teacher and student. They can like you and you can like them and talking about music and shite is fine, but they can never forget you’re the adult in the room and you need to maintain enough distance to hold them accountable. You’re not their friend.
