And still can't move his ankle

quote:

NEW: Florida man accepts his fate after being bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake, says he is "cooked" but at least it will make a good meme.

Gotta respect his commitment to the meme game.

Social media influencer David Humphlett told the snake "good game" (gg) before he was rushed to the hospital, appearing to accept that he may not make it.

Humphlett received 88 vials of antivenom and is miraculously expected to survive.

He has been in the ICU for two *weeks* as doctors continue to fight the venom.

"My reaction was just like, 'Dang it, this is really bad,' ... It was pretty scary because my whole body went numb, head to toe."

Humphlett still can't move his ankle.

F rattlesnakes and copperheads. Out there blending in with the forest bottom coiled up ready to strike. One of my biggest fears.

What else are they supposed to do to survive? These stupid arrogant kids should be a little more prepared knowing they are in the snake’s habitat.

I asked ChatGPT

quote:

The cost of rattlesnake antivenom can vary significantly depending on the location, the specific hospital or clinic, and whether you have insurance. On average, the price can range from $1,000 to $5,000 per vial, and multiple vials are often required to treat a snakebite, which can push the total cost to anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 or more.

That's going to be a hell of a medical bill. United Health Care will probably deny his claim.

If y'all don't know this guy, his videos are insane.

He goes walking in the Everglades at night and will pet "swamp puppies" (alligators) and pick up animals off the ground.

No, but the billed insurance rate is around there. I paid in the mid $400 range per vial when my dog got bit in the head.

He was also airlifted and spent at least 13 days in the ICU so we're talking 7 figures easily.

I think he had a life flight too.

My medivac to Seattle cost $109,000 alone. Insurance settled for 90k and paid all.

Oh well if that's a different guy, then I can correct my wife.

And my apologies for the initial comments.
