It was my understanding that the while the prisoner who gave up info leading to Bin Laden was water boarded earlier in his detention, the useful info came up under normal interrogation.

It's not normal in the sense that the US military didn't use it and even punished soldiers in the rare event that it happened. Hell in WWII it was considered a war crime. I never said anything against using water boarding, merely that it didn't appear useful in getting the info that lead to Bin Laden. Your reading comprehension is terrible.

I was in a Ranger battalion for 6yrs and have seen first hand what our govt does and what they tell people back home that went on. The two are more often than not completely different. We will never know the truth but I don't trust our govt one bit.

The back story of the interpreter was interesting he was a Pakistani-American who was pulled from a desk job for the mission at the last minute. Similar thing happened in the mission to save "Captain Philips". The person with the needed language skills was also a desk jockey had no spec-ops or any other field experience, and 24 hours latter was doing a tandem parachute jump out of the back of a transport plane into the ocean.
