The thing is, alcohol tests detect influence. With California going legal, significant investment capital is going to become available. Those types of tests are already being worked on. Now, the incentive just became even greater. And when they create that, I'm fine with any piss test at work in any industry.
It's just such new territory, it'll take time to figure things out.

Same in the hospitals. You trip and fall at work...employee health is doing a drug and alcohol test ASAP.
That's why I always make sure I don't drink anything for at least 6 hours prior to my shift. Just to be on the safe side.

Not shocking considering the large amount of senior citizens that live in this state.
The signs and ads against it were ridiculous. There was one sign by my house with gummy bears all over it basically implying that if it passes children will now be given marijuana laced gummy bears just for the heck of it.

This passed in Arkansas:
Issue 6 would legalize marijuana for medical use in Arkansas. The measure would allow for the establishment and regulation of marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities. State and local taxes on sales would be applied to medical marijuana. Revenue from these taxes would be allocated to cover administration costs and then 50 percent would go to the Vocational and Technical Training Special Revenue Fund, 30 percent would go to the General Fund, 10 percent would go to the workforce training programs, 5 percent would go to the Department of Health, 4 percent would go to Alcoholic Beverage Control administrative and enforcement divisions, and 1 percent would go to the Medical Marijuana Commission. Voters would be permitted to ban marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities in their municipalities. Issue 6 would authorize the Arkansas Legislature to amend sections of the amendment, except the sections legalizing medical marijuana and setting the number of dispensaries, by a two-thirds vote.

Prohibitionists have relied on scare tactics like this for a century.
I think California tips the scales eventually. The economy there is too large and the missed tax revenue is too much.
As of tonight, 20 percent of the national population will live in legal states with many more in medical states.
With the pressure on state legislatures from Medicare and Medicaid increases, they'll start dropping like flies.
California will force at least some action within the next year on the federal level. Banks and pressure from legal states combining their efforts will force the Feds to relax banking laws. It will be rescheduled and new federal taxes won't be long in coming after that.

we almost had issue 7 too
A "yes" vote would have supported legalizing medical marijuana for 56 qualifying conditions, putting the Arkansas Department of Health in charge of implementing the program, and allocating tax revenue to providing low-income patients with medical marijuana.

AZ still is one of those. Have a friend that has a medical card(she legit needs it as well...she has lupus and medical weed has helped her get off of several of her medications that she was taking for pain control). She has no problem finding dispensaries here.

Arizona's Bill was horrible too. Super corrupt and crafted to monopolize the industry for the people who were pushing it

It has been illegal in California to random test employees for a while now, unless you're in a safety sensitive position.
