Tbh the stereotypical millenial people like to bash are like mid to late 90s kids.
Don't disagree at all.

Cool. As a millennial household, we are trying to figure out if we're part of the 2% or 1%.
Deal with it.
Deal with it.

You're a millennial, get over it. I was born in '84, and don't feel that I have much in common with the stereotypical millennial, but it is what it is.
Sociologists who study these things are well aware of the phenomenon known as "cusp generations". It occurs between every generation and is smaller, larger, more prominent or barely perceptible based on a number of factors.
Common sense dictates that generations arent going to have a hard cutoff. 1979 isnt going to be vastly different or different at all than 1980. Two people born 1979 & 1980 are going to have far more in common than 1979 is going to have with his 1970 "Gen X" comrade and 1980 is going to have with his 2001 comrade.
Generations exist on a continuum.

Only a millennial would whine and bitch this much about where they are classified.

A lot of this just seems like stuff that has been true of every generation ever as they have come of age. Younger people just entering the workforce are poorer and rent more than people that have been working for 30 years? Wow, tell me more.

so your memories from when you were 4-6yo made such an impact. Ill answer for you. No it didnt. you might "remember" not having a cell phone but you didnt live a mature life without a cell phone.
Even though cell phones were around before then, it wasn't common for every kid to have a cell phone like it is now.
I still remember pay phones. If I needed to call someone while I was out somewhere, I'd have to either use a pay phone or ask to use a phone. Or if I was going to someone's house and my mom needed to get in touch with me, she'd have to call the friend's house.
People born in '88 lived life without cell phones.

86 and I remember having to physically write phone numbers in a book.
What would kids today do back then

87' here as well and I used to know a lot more phone numbers by memory in the past than I do now.
Also remember the hassle of broken payphones and missing phone books at pay phones.

Let's not act like there's some huge difference between getting one at 12 vs 15

historically millennials started in early 80s. meaning the early ones have been working for 10-15 years.
Although true many took 6/7 years to finish college with a degree in women's studies. Then took 3/4 years to find themselves.

I know it's your thing to dig at me now, but it's such a reach. I can respect decent humor, even at my expense, but this is not it.
Wait for something better to come along.
