Hijack alert.

Tureaud Hall
Initially named “Classroom Building” - and cited as “CLASS B” on printed schedules the first semester it was in use - which was confusing as frick.

If you are of a certain age, you will remember.

There's a lot of bullshite buildings at LSU... but a new library is actually needed. That's a GREAT thing for campus.

If it is like other universities in this state someone wants to increase studies in X field so they donate a paltry sum, the state comes in and funds the rest of the money to build a nice elegant structure even as student enrollment doesn’t even meet the needs of such building. Then you hire extra faculty to run that new department. After a year or two you have a nice building and extra faculty, but there is still not enough enrollment to support the new facility and staff, the university still cries for even more state money before admitting that the new building wasn’t needed and is going to be repurposed for something else. All the while other buildings on campus that should have received funding didn’t and are crumbling and flooding like the LSU Library for decades.

And I am, without a doubt, of that "certain age". When I got my schedule and saw my Russian class was in Classroom Bldg I was confused as f*! I know exactly what you mean there! You are 100% correct.

Which one has the best 2nd floor "study room" for handies from a girl in your Econ class? That needs to remain from Middleton for sure.

It’s a piece of shite that’s been falling apart for a decade? Seriously, it’s an embarrassment. You can find pictures of major water damage online.

Option A is gonna end up the same way. The maintenance where the monoslopes hit the wall require constant maintainance and repair to keep water out.

Why can’t they just make it match everything else? Italian renaissance and be done with it.

Neither are great, but between the two, you have to go with B.

This. Neither are cohesive with the architecture of the quad, but of the two, I prefer B.

Why can't LSU do it right and at least try to preserve the integrity of the campus as much as possible?

What’s wrong with the old library?
It is a dump and an eyesore in the middle of a beautiful quad.

A library at LSU is the biggest waste of money. It’s just a bath house for the queers.

Feel the same

At least it is slightly better than College Station 1950's soviet bunker buildings.

Are they going to provide crayons or will the students have to bring their own?
