It’s a 20 year old vehicle, it’s no big deal.

Her response: "What accident?"

Bad move on your part. ALWAYS FILE A REPORT NO MATTER HOW SMALL.

What's to say she doesn't come back at you now saying you backed up into her?

It's for your protection. And like another poster said, may not be a bad idea to report it to your insurance

I think you greatly underestimate the cost of body work to a vehicle.

She hit you.

She’s at fault. You’re insurance wouldn’t go up.

When you’re in an accident always call the police. And always get a lawyer.

Congrats on paying the deductible.

we both agreed it wasn’t worth filing a police report or insurance (probably a mistake on my end) and we exchange general info (name, number, license plates). Then we go our separate ways.

What’s the OT’s thoughts on the matter?
This was a major mistake here. You don't have to get a scum ball attorney, but get a police report and have your vehicle checked out. There's all sorts of crap under plastic bumper covers that break like parking assist. Even on your '99 4Runner there could be more than cosmetic damage.

Hopefully you will learn from your mistake in not getting a police report. You’re screwed

No fricking way. I've been in 4 accidents and only one minor one was my fault. I've never gotten a lawyer. Car got fixed each time with no issues. The same for my wife. Lawyer for every accident, bullshite.

ALWAYS get the police involved. If she didn't have insurance then I'd want her car impounded before she hurts someone.

What if she left your accident and killed someone when you could have prevented

I drive a vehicle that’s completely paid off and is as reiable as they come? Saves me a car payment each month so I can stash more money in the bank. What a fool’s paradise I’ve been living in!

Did she ask you about your neck? You may not feel it until tomorrow. Legit.

Doesn’t mean shite if tomorrow she finds out otherwise- had there been a report filed.
