Michelin makes a great tire. They just cost too much for me. I have been using the Firestone Destination LE for the past few years and have been able to get 50,000 miles out of them on my Silverado 1500 pickups. I use the Firestone card with 6 months to pay no interest.

Yep. As long as it holds air they are good.
Take a look at the tires on most 4-5 year old, and older, vehicles and most won't have "brand name" tires on them as the owners see no reason to spend more for Michelin's versus Federals or some such.

I have never been able to save much money buying tires online. My local guy rotates them for free if I buy them from him.
I love the LTX M/S tires and routinely have gotten 70,000+ miles out of them on my Tundras.
Good tires, air pressure and tire rotation seem to me to be the secrets to long lived tires.

I bought the Michelins when the vehicle had 80,000 miles. They were unbelievable. The truck now has 140K. I bought the Bridgetones.
It all depends on the vehicle I guess.

I have Michelin Defenders LTX on the truck I’m driving now and they have 77,000 miles on them and nowhere near done.
Keep correct pressure, rotate every time oil is changed, don’t hit curbs and shite and they will last.

michelin 1000x better the firestone/bridgestone crap
but uniroyal is made by michelin but costs less, price a set of those and you will like the savings while still getting michelin quality

In college I had a blowout driving home on La 1 along Bayou Lafourche just outside of Raceland. The only reason I knew the tire blew was from the thumping sound from the tire as I drove along. I never felt it blow. Pulled over and the tire maintained its shape. I’d never hesitate to buy a Michelin tire.

Then you want the best tire available surely.
Michelin makes some of the best tires in the world, full stop. That said the exact type of tire you need is important in who makes the best option.
If her SUV is a road only SUV/CUV then:
Michelin CrossClimate SUV
Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II
Continental CrossContact LX25
All three are as good as you can get for a road only SUV/CUV, the Michelin will have a small edge in grip and the Conty and Pirelli will have a little less noise and a little longer treadwear.
People often cheap out on tires and I get it but they are one if not the most important active safety systems on a vehicle. All the passive safety in the world may help you avoid injury in an accident but active safety is what lets you avoid it to begin with.

Yes, Michelin are worth it.

Road noise is a major factor I always look into. The Michelin tires I've had always seem to be a bit more quiet than what was on my cars before.

The best tires I've ever ridden on were Nexxen. Seriously. Michelin are great but not worth the money imho.

Buying name brand tires is one of the biggest scams. I buy cheap tires off ebay for my work truck and get 50k miles out of them. A name brand tire cost almost triple.
