Yeah, that happened about 25 minutes to my south.

My street looked like glass this morning. Saw one truck get stuck on the street and have to kind of chisel the ice around the tire to get traction. I think someone hit the stop sign at the intersection by my house too.

Can’t tell if he’s going too fast, especially with a sharp turn coming up, and no responding lights on, but that’s a lot of arse weight to control on ice.

I've seen it from two different angles, and they didn't seem to be going too fast.

They were responding to a call on a pick up truck sliding down that same spot and hitting a car in a driveway before sliding down the rest of the hill.

Any speed on ice is "too fast". That was a hell of a lot of weight headed downhill with zero traction or braking ability. I said it in the weather thread......there ain't a state or city in the country that can deal with an ice storm.

Big struggles across a pretty large area this morning. Dummies legit believe they can drive on ice:

Freezing rain has created BIG issues this morning on i-40 near Ozark, Arkansas. The interstate is basically a block of ice. Numerous semi trucks are either flipped, jackknifed, or completely spun around. Temps are slowly rising, but freezing rain continues.

Then your whole area is getting hammered for a long time today.

Good luck, and stay home.

Would think their fire trucks have the same rigs as busses where I lived in CO where they can drop chains down from the undercarriage for traction. Not as effective as chaining up but it works in a pinch.

That firetruck driver should be ticketed. In those conditions that speed was reckless.

He was going wayyyyy too fast. Looked like he was driving as fast as he normally would on a call.

Nothing more slippery than ice with some water on it. Can't even walk on that.
