still have it and it works for me. But I do need to sit down and look through my subscriptions because seems like every day I get at least one charge from Amazon for something I'm subscribed to.

This thread actually prompted me to do just that. Apparently the kids signed up for some kind of Song Quiz app for $8/mo in December, and my wife let a trial of AMC+ run for 3 months, so I cancelled both. Appreciate the thread.

I've had Prime for over a decade. I peaked at just over 70 orders a year back in 2020, but only 40 in 2021 and 30 last year.

I'm due in March, but not sure I'll re-up. I like the convenience and selection, but there plenty of alternatives now.

257 last year and have averaged 225/yr for the last 4 years.

I still get most deliveries within 48 hours but I also live within 5 miles of a new warehouse. Several times over the holidays, we got our delivery same day.

Me too! I get almost everything in 2 days with free delivery. I get lots of things next morning or even that night if I order in the morning. The Amazon truck comes to my house at least every other week.

I get it for free, otherwise I probably would cancel.

Doesn't mean a thing.

At least in my experience. I've found nothing at all that ships from the warehouse near me. Delivery times are longer than ever.

I also watched a full size box trailer sit on the shoulder of a road for nearly a week less than two miles from the warehouse. No one from Amazon seemed to give a shite about it.

I do 1 month prime around Christmas. If I go long enough between, they let me do it as a free trial.

Not solely for shipping, but if there were no Prime, we'd still be customers.

Our Math (weirdly like Prince Harry's truth, ours is different from yours)

We are 21 miles from the center of Knoxville, in our car that's about two gallons for the round trip. Add a gallon or two for getting caught in traffic, getting to stores that said "Yes, mam, we have that" only to find that they don't. And the waste of time driving in to try to find a particular gear for a lawnmower only to find none of the three wide spaced apart local dealers have the part that fits our exact mower. Or order from Amazon and get the right part in two to five days. That's hours of our time that we can spend more pleasantly at our farm.

Old fashioned window screens: Amazon sold us a box of 12 that fit our old windows for the cost of three at a local store (and they didn't have the right size anyway.)

Decrepit old cat would only eat one kind of catfood. Local groceries were out, even the ones in town. Ordered a case from Amazon, arrived in four days. Splash cat was happy.

And the only place I could get Diet Barque's and we looked everywhere ended up ordering through Amazon at more than I wanted to pay, but less per can than more restaurants charge for a soda.

Only place I could find Huacatay and Aji peppers. Amazon.

And on and on.

That, and living in the boondocks for items unavailable locally. Prime video complements our other streaming services, haven't needed their music or photo apps.

Thinking about quitting as three recent orders of new goods, on arrival, appeared to be expertly repacked returns. All three unpacked were in new condition.

At Home Depot buying say a leaf blower, like most I'll take one with a pristine, undamaged box and original looking taping. Product boxes in question appeared to have been opened and re-taped, all shipped inside an Amazon box making it more suspicious.

Walmart shipping has been excellent, half the time 2 day arrives in 1 day, pricing on par or slightly lower, occasionally higher. I've started to check Amazon's price far more than in the past.

Target for electronics occasionally has insane deals, when I can wait will check them over time to see what might pop up.

No doubt Amazon remains convenient, but their competitors are becoming more attractive.

We order a lot from Amazon so the free shipping is good. But what we use the most is Amazon Prime Video. We’re watching the final season of Ray Donovan on it right now.

We have one of those Gigantic Amazon distribution warehouses located in the next city over, so with Prime I get a lot of same or next day shipping for free.

I've got one about 60 miles from my doorstep. I can't remember the last time I got anything from them in 2 days, and it's almost a certainty that it will be at least a week.

I ordered an air filter for my truck, last week. I could've bought it directly off of S&B's website, but I had an Amazon gift card. It was $20 more expensive on Amazon. Looking at Walmart's online site, they have just about everything Amazon has, and I'm not a slave to the incompetence that is USPS.

Rumors suggest the shipping speeds are virtually the same, we'll see.

Just hold things in your cart until you get over the threshold required for free shipping. I don't know how fast things arrive with Prime, but I'm pretty happy with the shipping speeds.
