years ago, Walmart had merged w/ another site (jet?) to attempt to get a slice into Amazon's market for shipping goods. Not sure what happened to that.

We canceled Prime a couple years ago. The shipping times weren’t 2 day like they had been so the extra value wasn’t there for us anymore. My wife buys most household items from Walmart now and they are much quicker shipping wise than Amazon. The prices are usually very competitive if not cheaper also.

but if there were no Prime, we'd still be customers.

I think thats the point of the OP

Does it matter if one pays the extra for Prime? Sounds like many are saying they just wait until they have covered the $35 minimum, and then order

It appears delivery takes about the same amount of time either way. So why pay extra for getting the same thing you can get for free?

I use it more for better selection. Also use Prime Video.

I have a huge amazon photo and video back up. I couldn't cancel just based on the cloud storage alone.

I only have Prime for the streaming, but the shipping speed is a joke now. I just placed an order, all were “Prime” shipping items and they are scheduled to arrive 1/12. I guess the new selling point is 8 day shipping.

I’ve never understood the appeal. If I need something that urgent I’ll just go to the store and buy it. If I’m ordering something online I can usually wait 3 days for it to come in.

Or you can use Poor Man's Prime: Order through WalMart.com and have it shipped to your nearest WalMart for free. Pick it up and Profit.

I’d rather pay for Prime than deal with Walmart’s stellar employees, TBH.

Two items I ordered on 12/26, shipped out on 1/2 from their warehouse in Bessemer, AL. About 50 miles or so from my house. They sent it 160 miles to Atlanta, then 174 miles back to Prattville, AL. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Mail carrier delivered my mail, and didn't have a package. My business has one of those community mail boxes with a locked package box. USPS said they didn't deliver at 7:18 because the business was closed. Mail carrier walked into our office around 2pm. 2nd time in a week this has happened.
