Ferberizing a baby

Brutal. Who’s done it, and did you cave at first before getting it right?
Feels like torturing the kid, but in the end it only took 21 minutes for him to conk out.

If he stinks, just bathe him. You don't need to use febreeze.

I recommend investing in air pods and alcohol.
But I have no kids and I offered the same investment advice to an elderly couple. So take my advice with a grain of salt.
Oh, and invest in salt.

21 minutes of straight crying?
How old is the kid and how did you implement the method?

Autocorrect got you brah. Just feed him normal food, fertilizer isn’t recommended

Literally the first time I've seen that word. What is that?
Context clues tell me you mean the baby crying itself to sleep?

I believe it's the Ferber method:

I did not think it was appropriate. The more I read the more research indicated it was a bad idea.
Edit: I bet you sleep better than me within a month though

Never heard the term, but we did to all our children. Took only a couple nights and never an issue.
Also never let them sleep with us unless sick or something.

Ahh,I see. All the parenting books with their "methods" are completely useless IMO. I have a 5yr old and a 3 yr old. They are completely different personality wise. There is no cookie cutter book way to raise a child.

We set a clock for 30 min and if they made it, we would go check on them. They never did.

We did it, as needed. My wife was a patsy at times, but it works.

Do you think this is excessive? This is a drop in the bucket for those of us with needy babies.
A couple of hours or more of straight crying is not unusual in our circles.

I did it differently. Went in after 1 min, then after 2 more, then 3, and so on. Last interval was 6 minutes
Mfer was screaming bloody murder.
Oh well. It was time.

It kind of was 21 minutes straight, but the intervals keep it from feeling excessive.
Airpods are the shite for this. No lie.

So somebody just threw some random numbers and days together and called it a method? Looks like a CrossFit workout or that 30 day squat shite that the yo yo dieters post on FB

It's basically letting your kid cry it out with a plan.

Think about it. You are teaching the kid it’s okay to be away from parent when sleepy. Teaching them to be brave little by little. That’s my interpretation.
