Anybody wonder why so many police departments are short of officers. They don’t pay enough to deal with all that crap.

Police officers should be paid significantly more than they typically are so we can get higher quality job candidates. Sadly, there are too many idiots who become cops because too many departments are so short-handed that they feel pressure to lower their standards. A lot of the police shootings that outrage people are done by people who should never have been a cop in the first place. They make things a lot tougher for the competent cops.

This is the very reason women should not be cops.
When you are out weighed 50 or 100 lbs you have to use lethal force.

When the male cop arrived he took the dude right to the ground and put him in cuffs.

Eh, I don't know about that. I think it's sort of like women in the military. They shouldn't be on the front lines, but there are lots of other things they can do where raw physical strength isn't nearly as important.

The female officer should not have been sent to arrest the guy alone. She could arrest women and kids alone, but she should have backup any time she's expected to arrest an adult male.

When that cop gets fired for abuse of power, he should go into wrasslin' with that leg kick.

FWIW, I'm glad he got dropped. Sucks for the mom but she was told countless times to GTFO

Agreed. Sure took a long enough time for another officer to show up.

Why do we have female LE officers?

Because women are inferior and need new laws to allow them to be on the force and feel like they are just as good as men.

What's protocol for a scared, intimidated female cop who had backup on the way?

Don’t provoke a drunk retard who is sitting in his mom’s house.

She's expecting compliance from a guy who not only is clearly not going to comply, but is also clearly impaired (drunk). She also clearly does not have the ability to control the guy - even if she is able to force him into cuffs, she will not be able to control him. And while the guy is clearly not going to comply, he is also not being violently aggressive.

She has two choices - force him to comply or wait for backup. The correct choice is as plain as day. She makes the wrong choice and attempts to force compliance. Even going with this clearly wrong option, if forcing compliance was her goal, a taser would have been much more effective than a gun to force cooperation from someone whose judgement is very compromised.

Her final mistake is that she can't aim for shite.

If this woman has any right to be a cop, it should be behind a desk.

In the video, Capt. Tim Brown, with the Office of Professional Standards, said deputies were first called to Spinx at the intersection of Pelham and Batesville roads to collect a video tape which had evidence of a shoplifting that happened earlier that morning.

“After the deputy arrived at the Spinx, the video tape was reviewed by the deputy, who recognized the shoplifting suspect in the video from a previous call that occurred earlier that morning,” Brown said. “The call as regarding an intoxicated subject involved in a non-violent domestic situation with his mother, who had fled the house after the suspect attempted to take her purse to purchase more beer.”

Brown said around 12:30 p.m., the deputy left the Spinx and went to a home on Cliffview Court, which she knew was the suspect’s residence.

Was coming to post this as well. Weak people (physically) should not be cops. Or at least should not respond to calls like this. She was physically not strong enough to contain the dude. And for all those saying he was okay sitting on the stairs, no he wasn’t. He sat there because he wanted to, and if he wanted to go upstairs she wasn’t stopping him. He could have gone and retrieved any number of weapons or done whatever he wanted.

But she couldn’t control the situation physically when it called for it.

I won’t even get into her incompetence with her weapon. That’s a whole other issue though.

Really man? She had him sitting on the stairs several times, calm. Told him backup would be there shortly to take him to jail. He says fine. She then grabs him be the arm,,, wtf? How can you see it any other way?

I agree.

It appears that her ego wouldn't allow her to wait on a man to come do her job that she wasn't capable of doing. I think that she could have left him sitting on the stairs for 3 minutes to wait on backup.

Women and short people, generally, do not need to be put in these types of situations as police officers, because a woman in a man's world and short people in a 6 foot people's world tend to feel like they have to prove something to the world.

This shouldn't have happened, but, legally, it was a good shoot.

What if I told you that police departments around the country purposely hire stupid people, because they want them to follow their training and not think for themselves?

Couple of things.

The female officer is obviously grossly overweight.

Two, she should have waited on the male officer to take this guy down on the stairs. Period.

Three. Mom didn't want her boy shot .... so I get her trying to protect him from that once the sidearm was brought into play. She gambled, she lost.

Four, two shots were fired. The second one the female officer appeared to be going for a leg shot. It was past leg shots by then IMHO. Especially when she was trying to aim center mass on the first shot.

Six, not sure why a taser was not employed almost from the get go. Usually when they see the red dot hit them, they know what's coming next and she could have really laid the juice to his arse.

Seven. Her grip discipline was horrible. She limp twisted the frick outta that service piece. She should have been high and tight with weak thumb down the frame and her less reliant on sights .... she should go extended when he makes his move and in the process the trigger squeeze becomes a natural part of the extension rather than the slapping she was doing.
