Has anybody here claimed this welfare and then taken the saw or the generator back to the store and got a store credit too??

Got an email last week saying I was approved for $800 for the generator I purchased. I uploaded my receipt on the FEMA site.

When this thread first started I asked my mom about theirs
She said FEMA told her she had to file with home owners insurance first then if she was denied (she was) to file with FEMA
She was still waiting on the actual denial letter to send to FEMA

How'd you enter? I couldn't find anything that fit with description of generator/chainsaw so I uploaded under misc. Would this matter?

When did you submit your receipt?

When did you initially upload receipt?

Got my $1,050 for chainsaw and generator. Had to submit receipts (I think under misc item, estimate/receipts). They then sent me a notice asking me to verify that I needed to use the chainsaw to access my house and that the generator was used to power up fridge/freezer. Asked for receipts again. Write up letter, signed it, attached receipts and received reimbursement in about 10 days.
It just took them 2-3 weeks to send me the letter to request a signed letter from me to get it moving

Hell, I actually forgot about it until this thread reminded me. I uploaded everything on Oct 7th. I checked today and it said it was determined I needed a home inspection which was in progress. Have no idea what they want to inspect since I had no structural damage. The generator I own shite the bed 3 days into the outage and damn saw quit running after two tanks of fuel. Maybe they just want to look at generator and saw to make sure it wasn't returned to the store?

For everyone who got approved for Generator reimbursement...did you file an insurance claim and provide a denial letter to FEMA?
Posted on 11/3/21 at 9:34 am to SelaTiger
