There is actually one La state appellate case that upheld a general damages award of $5k for loss of a dog. Still not enough in my opinion

Owned a Rott in my yute that was a hand full at 140#’s. Most are smart and over protective to the point of out of control. A gun is the only thing I can think of that would keep one from killing you.
The owner of this dog contributed to his dogs death imo.

I don’t like pits, which this was a rottie and there was a German shepherd back there too and both didn’t do anything wrong, but the video of this incident is fricking ridiculous.

Cop deserves to be put down for going in someone’s backyard and murdering their pet.

The only way this changes is to hold the officer financially responsible

There has to certain things that are liabilities on the officer.

Being afraid of a dog on the dogs property can not ever be an excuse.

There is a big difference between coming on the property for a serious crime and just showing up for a specific dispatch.
