In 2016, after spending a year traveling to Brazil, India and South Africa, a light bulb went on. “I didn’t miss the U.S.,” she said. “I’ve seen there are better ways to live in other places.” She acknowledged that there’s racism in these places, too, but nothing as bad as in the United States. Being abroad is the first time I have felt some kind of privilege, if that makes sense. I’m not looked at as a Black person. Terry Williams, 32 This woman and several others mentioned to HuffPost that when they’re traveling abroad, they’re viewed as Americans in a way that doesn’t happen at home. They feel a sense of privilege denied to them at home because of their skin color. “I felt seen as a person for the first time,” Chrishan Wright, a 46-year Black woman from New Jersey, said of a solo trip she took to New Zealand three years ago. She recounted how she was speeding while driving in the country and got pulled over. “They were so gracious.”

Visiting a country for a short while is not even remotely the same as having to live there.
I'm most certain wherever she traveled abroad was a tourist type area that caters to foreign visitors.
It's like saying Orlando/ Disney World is an example of what it's like to live in Memphis.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is racism against every minority group everywhere in the world.

The majority population feels like they were the ones that did the heavy lifting to build the society, and the minorities are just there to take advantage of it.

Every. Single. Country. Worldwide.

Black people would be so disappointed if they understood how little anyone gives a shite about their race

This is like the old joke about a man who died and was given the chance to visit heaven and hell before deciding. He liked heaven, but when he visited hell, he ate well, did anything he wanted, etc. So he went back to St Peter and said he'd choose hell. Peter said OK and sent him to Satan. When he got there, Satan immediately put him in chains and sent him to hard labor. Then man complained about his treatment and asked why he wasn't treated like his first experience. Satan told him he was a tourist then and now he's an immigrant.

Black people aren’t too well received in India. The country is largely Hindu and so much of culture revolves around that. So if you’re not Hindu things can be a little tough depending on where you live. Also women are still too often treated like 2nd class citizens. Indians are largely traditional from a social aspect. The opposite from a progressive like her. Not to mention the amount of abject poverty, how awful those poor people are treated, the insane population, pollution, etc.

She clearly suffers from the “grass is always greener on the other side” syndrome

I fully support Devon Kitzo-Creed’s desire to leave the US, and I wish her the very best in the future. She seems like a nice person, so I hope she is able to get all her friends and family to go with her so that she is not lonely in her new place.
