Now that just about every flight has free movies and tv it makes it a lot more tolerable. I used to hate to fly then I had to do it weekly for work. I asked my boss how he handles it, he was a former Marine, he said he just says a prayer. Oddly enough he was on the flight that Sully landed in the Hudson. I guess it worked.

That's because you aren't taking enough.

Oh...it is because they are afraid of dying...not flying.

I think a lot of people are afraid of not being in control. They are probably anal as frick in their daily lives.

I'm perfectly content flying, it beats the shite out of driving for 12+ hours. I don't understand how there are adults who have never flown anywhere, I don't think my mom flew until she was 40+ years old.

They just need my handy Martini:Ambien ratio flight chart. Works every time.

You’re more than likely to die on the way to the airport than you are in an airplane crash.

Now stop being a pussy.

I close my eyes and pretend I am flying a fighter jet.

Just be careful not to move around your hand around as if you are moving the control stick. You can get kicked off a plane for that evidently.

9/11 was a factor in why I'm scared of flying. The people in the second plane heard about the first plane crashing into the tower. I can't imagine the fear that those people had to endure during the last minutes of their lives. The last time I took a plane, the pilot slammed on the brakes at the BR airport. Our heads hit the seat in front of here you were sitting. The pilot said sorry about that folks. I swore never to ride in a plane ever again. So yes, I'm scared to death of flying.

Get yourself a book. sit in the chair and read. then close the book and go to sleep.

Man up. Gees. You're making MSU look bad. It's not like folks die in plane crashes!

Think rationally about the statistics. The simple fact is that flying is incredibly safe. The fear that is creeping in is simply the knowledge of how terrifying an accident in an aircraft would be.

I always get the doc to throw me a few xanax, wash it down with a whiskey on the rocks. Takes that edge off.

It's not that I am afraid of flying, I just can't afford 1st class, and get claustrophobic crammed in like sardines with strangers. Crowded elevators do the same exact thing.
