fricking pisses me off. None of these old tards even realize like 90% of the comments sent to the FCC in support of the repeal were sent by bots.
So, you're saying Media Matters support repeal?

ETA How can people not see that the service providers and the FCC want us to continue fighting this "Net Neutrality" fight...the reason for that is because they win either way.
This.
I keep reading about NN and trying to figure it out and no matter what I see, read, hear, it seems neither side is really going to deliver anything of value to the consumer.
In the end this is about controlling information. The power brokers across the world have figured out their grip on things is going to be broken due to the internet and the flow of information that is virtually unfettered right now. They are acting to stop that.
I suspect the only way this gets fixed is violence. Hate to say it, but I think that is the path we are on. Really sucks.

You realize Youtube is owned / controlled by Google right?
I have my issues with YouTube censorship that I have been very vocal about, but they still don’t control the entire distribution of the internet.

Oh, and putting John Oliver out there as a credible source to explain anything destroys your credibility. There's nothing about John Oliver that isn't heavily biased and nothing he does that is free of an agenda.
Ok, so? Are you pro-civil forfeiture as well? He’s right about this.

I feel compelled to side with whatever argument is opposite of yours, because of this. Congrats.
Because I agree with Oliver in this instance? Ok, then just trust the baby with the dingo that has on every given chance murdered it and see how that works out.
And if you just take the opposite stance I do by default, then congrats on being a simpleton for refusing to think things through at all.

Free websites will go out of business or you will have to start paying for it.
No such thing as a free website. The website is generating revenue by selling ad space and/or providing your usage metrics to advertising companies.
You think the ISPs are the real bogeyman? They're small bit players compared to Google and Amazon.
Every aspect of your life is tracked and sold online.

That's not true. There are a lot of smaller sites that operate at private expense and/or donations. Not every site is a revenue generator.

How much do you pay to use TD? What about youtube, or Twitter/ facebook, etc.
As someone else said, you will be paying $5 a month to use YouTube going forward. And TD.com will be slower thwn early 2000's dial up.

Ask Chicken what his revenue is from ad sales.

You're cute if you think TD is even remotely on the radar of the companies involved in this.

And in terms of viewership they aren't even a blip.

Well, it was nice knowin’ ya’ boys. This Trump FCC director is determined to dismantle net neutrality and I am afraid that sites like this won’t survive. ??

It's cute you think TD is even an afterthought for ISPs and major content providers.

The older generation is gonna have to start dying before people who actually understand tech can be the ones making the decisions.
Well, this is a dumb comment. It's the "older generation" that conceived of and created all the tech that's out there.

What a stupid statement.
I know a guy with those investments. He buys a new Porsche every time the weather changes. Lives an amazing life and is set forever.

My favorite analogy is power: would you be okay with power companies 1) being aware of what devices you plug into your outlets at home, and 2) being able to charge you different rates based on, say, the type of device or even the manufacturer?
It would be like allowing the power company to cut power to GE washing machines because GE didn't play ball with them, and forcing people to pay extra or use Maytag.
YOU WANT NET NEUTRALITY!

A lot of people don’t seem to understand this. You say Trump, and they bend over. It’s really sad.
Posted on 11/17/17 at 9:19 pm to Halftrack
I can't wait until net neutrality ends so all the fricking retards out there can see that things will be better.
Bunch of idiots believing everything they read on the internet, mostly lies spread by many of the largest internet companies on earth.
It will be fine.
We want the government to leave us alone, but for some reason we think them forcing the internet to be a "level playing field" is a good idea? Talk about mixed ideals.

You really think overturning this means the government isn't involved?
