FBI raids Madisonville home; arrests man for making homemade bombs

Some action going down in sleepy ol’ Madisonville. Any ideas as to why he is being held in Plaquemines Parish?

The FBI says that Robert Coleman, 66, admitted to agents that he had built improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in his house. The documents also say that Coleman had previously been arrested in 1991 in Jefferson Parish for manufacturing explosive devices though that arrest was later expunged.

What's hilarious about this is the way the FBI managed to snake all of the publicity even though, in the second to last paragraph, the truth is stated.
They let the AFT do all the work and then they stepped in right when the TV cameras showed up. Typical of the Bureau. They are the undisputed Masters of the Limelight.

Off subject, but the FBI just stepped in on a big interstate kidnapping/human trafficking and financial fraud case where some guys in New York had some lady hostage and were forcing her to cash checks with like 20 or 30 different fake state ID's in the glamorous town of Olla. La's FBI agents been busy.

I've told the story here about a guy my great aunt (more the age of an aunt, as my grandmother had her late-in-life) was dating for a bit. Back in the mid-90s they were living in Michigan when the ATF showed up at the door. Their neighbors had called police about a couple of explosions they had heard from their property.
After a quick search of the property it turned out that the guy had, in fact, been making pipe bombs in the garage. The next, obvious, question was......why? Well, he had a pretty bad mole problem on his property, and had been blowing up their tunnels with the pipe bombs. He somehow avoided any serious charges, so I guess they either believed him or sympathized with his battle.
After a quick search of the property it turned out that the guy had, in fact, been making pipe bombs in the garage. The next, obvious, question was......why? This dude is so fricked. In this day and age, who doesn't know NOT TO TALK to the FBI?
Also, given his behavior, he is either serious hard-core loon who bragged to them because he really believes in some cause or some completely goofy baw who told them "shite yes I bought that stuff, I been killing beavers and blowing up dams because of flooding... Why? Am I not allowed to do that?"
