Do you even CEBA, bro?
Lower level econs were taught in the horticulture building in my day.
Ceba was for the Indians and old white men teaching IE.

Econ 101 says this is the rule of supply and demand
That applies in a normal market not one where some dude is hiding in his apartment hoarding 5000 boxes of face masks.

In everything that has ever existed, when supply gets short, prices rise
Did someone put a gun to the doctor’s head and make him pay 7x prices?

Sounds like hospitals in NY didn’t do a good enough job preparing.

You wouldn’t salute the free market if someone bought all gasoline in a 100 mile radius, selling at a massive premium and buying our every shipment of gas moving in.
Fuel is a volume money maker, not margin. That dude would be out of bidness with the quickness. He’d get over on people for a veeeeeery short period of time

Stop trying so hard. Makes you sound dumb.

The guy was probably going to be fine until he tacked on the terrorism charge.
What exactly were they charging him to begin with?

But he's not "hoarding" masks (i.e. keeping them), he's selling them.
Sure he’s doing that but just because he’s taking advantage of the situation doesn’t make it a free market. So he’s selling it for 7x. What if someone a block away is selling it 10x? And someone else in the city is selling it 5x? So you have a commodity with prices of 5x, 7x, 10x. So what is the current value? When the stock market market opens tomorrow and I want to buy Disney stock at 10am, the price should be the same for one trading website or another website. If one site has Disney at $80 and another at $140, is that a true free market?
Just because I can sell a face mask to a random grandma for $200 each(and she’s willing to pay for it), it doesn’t make it a true value.

So why does target charge more for the same good than Walmart?
