I think more thoughtful observers have an issue with police showing up with SWAT and armored vehicles for every situation under the sun and RAMBOing around.
I don't think many have a problem with them using them for this situation.
Of course, determining when the situation is the former and won't turn into the latter is when a lot of debate can occur.
