All this public vs Catholic school talk is stupid. People send their kids to Catholic schools to learn not just the academics required for life but the moral lessons of life that public schooling does not provide.
When those that are in charge of teaching our youth right from wrong are the ones carrying out the most horrific wrongful acts, it shakes the foundation of the institution.
And it’s one thing to have wrong-doing and correct it but the church leadership covered it up! They were and are not repentant! They’re arrogant!
Hypocrisy is not a strong enough word to describe what has happened.
It’s shameful beyond explanation.
The Catholic Church claims to seek honesty and truth except when it comes to revealing their own indiscretions.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see this flow over into the New Orleans saints too.

That's exactly who pedophiles go after, the kids in broken homes with no father figure. When you have a father figure in your life, they get a bullet in the brain at the airport.

I haven’t seen one poster in this thread defending molesters.
I do see people defending the church and Catholic schools, which is reasonable.
When someone says something stupid like ‘the Catholic Church supports/defends molestors’ or ‘Catholic schools are havens for child rape’, you deserve to be called out.
And as has been stated before, far far more child molesting goes on in public schools than Catholic ones. Although Catholic schools should be held to a higher standard

Who has systematically, across the country, done these things. It’d be different if it was isolated to an area.
We had a huge diocese child-abuse scandal here in Louisville. I can promise you what has been found in the public schools here isn’t close to what they were doing in their cover up.
quote:
For Louisville, a small archdiocese with 200,000 Catholics, the extent of the scandal and the financial impact have been of enormous proportions. In an archdiocese with 115 active diocesan priests, the plaintiffs accused 34 priests, 2 religious brothers and 3 laypeople of abuse from the 1940's to as recently as 1997, said Dr. Brian Reynolds, the chancellor and chief administrative officer of the archdiocese.
Feel free to find news that says JCPS here has had the same numbers of pedophiles in their ranks in that timeframe.

How do you know when the Catholic Church is actively covering it up to the point where the FBI has to get involved?

So using Louisville, roughly 30% of the priests are child rapists. That is way more fricked than I thought. frick these people and the people who prop them up and allow them to exist under some retarded veil of eternal salvation. If priests really believe this shite, do you think they would be molesting children? Not sure there are many worse acts here on Earth.

This situation is a powder keg for both the city and the state. Gayle Benson is a huge liability. All I can say is yikes.

Cant wait to see how Gayle Benson and the Saints get wrapped up in this probe too considering how they used their resources to help cover up child rape.
A lot of grown men who wear Saints jerseys as their go-to casual shirt like to overlook this.

Time to move on from Maxwell's unobtained list of Clinton and friends.

They divided the number of offenders over several decades by the number of current priests.
34 is 34 too many over any time frame, but they're hoping people draw an incorrect conclusion from their phrasing.

People trusted their priests etc. When you preach/teach morals and then do the vile things we have learned about it is a betrayal that is unimaginable. Then to cover it up and declare bankruptcy is even sicker. They should have been prosecuted to the full extent of the law not protected and revered by the flock.

I have no problem with teaching morality and actually encourage teaching it.
None of us are perfect and there’s a certain degree of hypocrisy for anyone that teaches it. Any parents out there know what I’m talking about.
the degree of hyprocricy in the church is just staggering though! It’s on an extreme level.
Their motto should be
“Do as I say, not as I do”

Sad to say, but my father in law vehemently defends that Catholic priest who got caught with child porn on his laptop. Even moreso after the priest confessed to looking at it. They were best buds and he swears that someone set the priest up.
It's all good though because the priest repented after every viewing.

Wow that's crazy. I mean, if he repents then there is definitely forgiveness from God for him, but I don't know why anyone would still want him working in the church.
