They will never find the missing 70 million, no federal investigation will ever occur and probably many of my friends will breathe a big sigh of relief, and many years from year at hunting camp, cc or offshore trip, observe of them will tell me “Well you know that he was involved in all that etc etc etc.

There is no question this whole thing is shady AF, but the half million spent on ACCESS at MS State looks legitimate. This program is for students with intellectual disabilities. ACCESS helps them acquire job skills and get jobs, which helps keep them off the dole in the future. For example, I know of one ACCESS graduate who is now working for Starkville Parks and Recreation. Some of my daughter’s friends have mentored students in that program, and it is legitimate. I cannot say whether other expenditures were valid, but I think this one was. I don’t know whether this program has a significant effect on reducing poverty, but it certainly helps those ACCESS students avoid poverty in the future. Honestly, I’d rather see my tax dollars spent on ACCESS than on some other programs that purportedly help the poor.

I’ll be following this story to see what happens. Seeing how Scott Walker got off easy for his misdeeds does not make me optimistic that the corrupt folks involved in this scam will receive their due justice.
