A bunch of MS area celebrities are involved, mainly former athletes like Favre, Dibiase and his kids, Marcus Dupree, etc.
This story has been around for a few years but appears to be hitting a new gear.

When will we all admit no matter the party affiliation, misappropriation and outright grift is and always will be the goals of career politicians?
It should be no shock to anyone here how people in power campaign and secure votes using a platform like welfare (pro and con social services). Each side will always engineer a way to steer money into their pockets, the pockets of influential constituents or both.

Brett DiBiase, 31, who state auditors said was paid with welfare funds for teaching classes about drug use. Mr. DiBiase never gave those classes, auditors said, because he was being treated for an opioid addiction at the Rise in Malibu rehab center in California.
The state of Mississippi also paid for his treatment at the Malibu center. He took a deal a plead guilty to one count of lying.

And to think I gave this white piece of trash the benefit of the doubt when he exposed himself to that reporter.
Although I’ve gotten more aware of these celebrities since then. Hollywood or athletes

Favre is Dixie mafia family?
Read his book, he talks about remembering going to Parchman to see his uncles. All his immediate family with the exception of his mom have pulled time.

Even for political pricks, stealing money from poor people like this is bullshite

Doesn't mean they were Dixie Mafia. They are from the Kiln and likely were involved in moonshine production historically. I know more recently Brett and his siblings all had issues with substance abuse. His sister went to jail for cooking meth in a bathtub of a condo rental in Hancock County, MS.

Ten year old me is reveling in the prospect of his incarceration. I hated that SOB with a bloody passion.
Although $1M in the 80's is probably like $400k now.

That’s interesting but I’ll be honest there’s zero chance I ever read Brett favres book
