PJ
Dominos
PH
LC
Cici/Sbarro

That said, I have a suspicion that the absolute best PH franchise probably produces a better pizza than any of the others can muster.

The Pizza Huts in my area for some reason are hit and miss; it depends on the store. If it’s a good one, I’d rank them number 1. Dominoes would be second. I don’t know what it is about Papa John’s, but their tomato sauce gives me terrible heartburn so they are three. I haven’t had Little Ceasers since college but it was a decent pizza for cheap on a college budget if you weren’t too picky.

You got 2 Pizza's for the price of one and when you are younger and poorer you have to stretch the food dollars.

I have so much nostalgia for early 90s Pizza Hut that it's almost painful

The lights, booths, cups, the pan pizza, the smell of green pepper. Supposedly there are the vintage classic PHs around but I haven't made it to one

Grimaldi’s.

In a class of its own, easily the best pizza I ever ate. Is that considered a national chain though?

Pizza Hut pan pizza is an absolute grease bomb but it's sometimes exactly what I want. Extra cheese, extra sauce.

They've all gone downhill over the last 10-15 years.

It's shocking that in NY, about 5000 independent pizza spots make delicious fresh pizza, sell it cheap and make a ton of money doing it.

Yet, not one national chain can figure out how to make even a halfway decent one.

Hunt Brothers pizza has never disappointed me

It might be because you don’t expect much from gas station pizza and it’s actually not bad

I like Sbarros

I tolerate Pizza Hut and Dominos when it’s what people order but would never order them

Pop’s Pizza in Manhattan was perfectly good! Great P/Q/Q.

Same. The pleasant smell of pizza baking, comfortable booths, arcade games, dad drinking a beer, and the pizza being brought out hot and fresh and delicious

I think this has a lot to do with location also. The place near me had just opened and gave a shite. Then again, I didn’t give a shite. Think I dipped in ranch back then.
