NOLA 1999 was awesome!! I've always enjoyed Spanish Town, since it is more family friendly compared to some others I've been involved in

Ride in Endymion and am part of a walking krewe for Thoth, MG Day. Endymion Saturday and Thoth Sunday are best days of the year.

It's a lot bigger.

Couple of more quick questions ... why Moonpies? They are made in Chattanooga I believe?

I don't actually know why that took off as a tradition. I was really surprised in New Orleans when there weren't moonpies flying everywhere.

For example, are the Mobile king cakes similar to Louisiana's version?

Yes. That is the same. Anything with roots in the old world, like the king cake, end up being pretty much the same.

Also, I was curious if they did anything involving the Mobile Bay.

Not really. You are close to the Mobile River and the bay but nothing happens there.

Ah yes, a bunch of ugly rednecks pounding bud light and hanging out in the back of their pickup trucks in shitty trailer park towns. Truly a world class event.

Mobile is pretty underwhelming. I'd rather go to Mandeville. I normally hit NO up two or three times a year + riding (KDV night, Edymion day, Bacchus day). Will be at Zulu this year for family riding, and am riding in a parade myself.

Mamou and Eunice are second place. I'd also like to check out Rio, and suspect it would top them all

Mardi Gras 2006 was the best ever! None of the Katrina refugees had returned home yet and Canal St was only 1 person deep. Plus Endymion and Bacchus paraded together.
It was fricking amazing.
