I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said "Hey, smoke up, Johnny"

New England Arms .410 crack-barrel shotgun when I was 8. I also got taken on first duck hunt that week for a youth lottery hunt at Mandalay Wildlife Refuge. Froze my arse off and got hooked from that moment on.

Few people will get that reference.

I was 10 and got a 20 gauge single shot from an uncle that regularly took me rabbit hunting.

I got this double barrel cap shotgun once. I think the stock was real wood. It was pretty cool.

A go Kart. Wasn’t even my gift, it was my two older brothers gift. But that was the most fun one ever. BB gun also. A few more. Original Nintendo was hard to beat, and when I was a little bit older in-line skates and hockey stick to play street hockey, a Redline Proline BMX bike.

came with a better game

Air Sea Battle vs Combat.

Friend of mine down the street was the first with an Atari and his was the Sears version. I can remember once they took off, same time that the coin ops were taking off. New Roads, Electro World and Mr. Debs. As soon as the new game came out in the arcade, it wasn't long before it'd show up at TG&Y..

That machine provided years of presents.

4-5y old me didn't know what to call wooden magnetic train so when my parents asked what I wanted from Santa I just said a "good wooden thing".

Some how they figured it out. Dyslexic discovery came a few years later.

I grew up poor af. I never got much, but my grandma finally gave me a cool gift. A buck knife. I cut myself playing with it and hid the cut with all my whit. I knew nothing about knives, but I wanted to keep it.
I have the scar today on the meat of my thumb and I can't think of any better gift than the buck knife...ever.
Start of manhood. The hard way.

Still have this gun and it still looks almost brand new.
