What yall do is amazing!

Thank you. I have to admit it kicks me right in the gut to see and hear what some of these kids have had to endure. But to know I’m doing something to help them get through it makes it all worth while.

Haven’t seen STARC, or any other ARC chapter mentioned, but the recipients are a group of people who have quite a bit of difficulty fending for themselves. Haven’t lived in LA since Katrina, but never stopped supporting STARC, and don’t plan to anytime soon.

Their operating budget v what they actually contribute towards in terms of their mission. This is true for a lot of charities.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
The national organization has overhead but the local groups are comprised of volunteers and typically have very low overhead.
The base organization is a called a Conference and is typically affiliated with a church.
Each Conference decides how they will assist those in need in their community.
Find out if there is one in your community and if there is, find out what they do.

Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) is #1.

Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation is the other one I primarily donate to.

CCA gets membership fees and STAR fees from me if you consider that a donation.
