Nah.

If we just let everyone intermingle freely, the virus would kill only 80-year-olds with no adverse economic effects.

People would stimulate the economy by continuing to dine at their favorite steakhouses where they can throw peanuts on the ground while thousands in their area were visibly dying at overwhelmed hospitals in town.

The guy came out, with next to no knowledge of this virus, a few weeks ago and and boldly stated that millions would die in the US alone. He’s already stepped that back

Got a link showing where he claimed 2 million dead?

From the "it was aliens" department; Trump conceded these numbers are possible.

It spreads more quickly and kills more quickly. If Faucci is right at only 100,000, that's alot more than the flu kills in the US. I voted for Trump by the way.

How many deaths in the previous outbreaks were the deaths attributed to the pre-existing conditions and not the virus? (Someone with emphysema or advanced lung cancer gets H1N1, dies, and the cause of death is tabbed as cancer related) With those flus not being politicized I would assume there was a significant amount of underreporting. But there is zero chance Covid related deaths are underrepresented. In fact, the Chicken Littles in the media and the left have gotten caught with their hand in the cookie jar attributing deaths to Covid that weren't. If anything, this flu has been overreported.

So, when I see statements such as, "This strain is more lethal/contagious than the others" I have to ask; how do you know? There's no doubt that the reporting/tabulating criteria is different with this outbreak to others. If this isn't apples to oranges it is at the least Granny Smith to Red Delicious.

You should call the CDC. I'm sure no epidemiologist ever has ever thought of this before.

true, we should take this as an act of war from China with biochemical weapons. That number will probably be 10-20x all other countries in the world. China should be held accountable for every death and every one of their governmental officials should be arrested.

At the very least China should forgive what we owe them to pay us back for the stimulus...It would be a great way for them to take responsibility for this virus, which they never will, and for us to tamp down the national debt..

I get what you're saying. However, it doesn't work like that with a virus in society.
Our social interactions are limited. We see similar people most days. Herd immunity etc develop.
The world isn't a petri dish.

Well, this doctor baw explained why the earlier experts were wrong in their estimates os 2.2 million dead if we don’t, and 400,000 if we do, isolate.

Link? Because that’s the exact same numbers of an early CDC estimate if nothing was done, and it sounds like you just assumed it action/no action.

55,000 tops, when everything is said and done.

The models keep getting revised down. First it was 2.5 million and now it's 100,000-200,000. My bet is the eventual death toll from this pandemic will be roughly 50,000 in the United States.

We understand how hyperbole and hystrionics apply, also. We aren't coming close to 200K on this thing. It will take some fast and loose classifications to even get to 100K.

3 months to get to 2000 deaths and you can’t see how we’ll have less than 100,000? Based on what? Feels?

Doomcasting. Hydroxychloroquine/Zpack treatment will end this doom real quick. New York is almost done with their group of test patients.

Considering most states the numbers of new patients, deaths, and new hospitalizations are decreasing yeah, it’s pretty damn close to over.
