Hell. Yes.

The self-described "world's largest" men's divorce law firm has opened an office in metro Jackson and advertises it will represent men who are at a disadvantage in family courts

The law firm says its mission is to protect and promote men's family and financial interests in all phases of the divorce process.

The firm is emblematic of a growing men's or father's rights movement across the country, where men say they've been discriminated against in court on family legal matters such as child custody and child support cases.

"A lot of guys are frustrated with the process," Cordell & Cordell CEO Scott Trout said.

"Before they even enter court, the needle is completely against them. And when they do go to court, they are often presented with the worst-case scenerio," he said.

Are they going to get the laws changed? If not, it won't matter.

Exactly. This is nothing more than a cynical marketing scheme. I promise you men aren't getting shite on in court because the family law bar in Jackson is anti-Men.

I had one of these lawyers but it didn’t really matter. The laws are against men, not the lawyers.

SFP needs to open something like that up in Louisiana. Hell he’d do fine just representing posters off of here.

Wonder if its just a marketing thing.

"Welp, I need a lawyer. Let's see, "Father's Rights Law Firm" yup that sounds like what I need."

This is a marketing ploy. They can focus on representing men and that’s great. I would still take the best divorce lawyer in the city over them any day before hiring them.

We have one lady who does it in BR. I consider her to be mediocre at what she does.

It's not the laws. The laws as written call for a fair assessment. The issue is that courts rely on "expert" input from interest groups to make their decisions which are binding and unquestioned.

Men can win in court, but it takes a very long time and you have to be meticulous in your preparation. Also, have a lot of money to spend on private detectives and lawyers.

I won, but it cost me more that I ever thought it would. Worth it, but it was brutal.
