Let me preface this by saying my wife is very good to me and vice versa. But I think all of us dads can honestly say that Mother's Day is a bigger deal than Father's Day. Below is a conversation similar to one we have had recently. See if you can relate...

Mother's Day
Me, "your mom called me and asked what we wanted to do for Mother's Day"
Wife,"I don't really wanna see my mom. I just want a relaxing day where you fix me breakfast, take the kids, and maybe bar b que later"
Me, "you want me to invite your mom over for the bar b que"
Wife, "no I just want a relaxing day with you guys. I don't want anyone over, jut us"

Now let's fast forward a few weeks:
Fathers day
Wife, "what do you wanna do for Father's Day?"
Me, " I wanna sleep in (sleeping in for me is 7:00), got to church, relax and watch the CWS, and then bar b que"
Wife, "you have watched baseball all week and I'm tired of grilling every weekend. Can we do something besides grilling"
Me, " I haven't watched that much baseball this week and you love my grilling"
Wife, "I wanna drive to my dads as a family"
Me, " I just want a relaxing day with you guys (working 50 hours this week)
Wife, "but I haven't seen my dad in a couple weeks" her dad lives 2 hours away mind you
Me, "but that's four hours in the car on a Sunday"
Wife, "you're selfish"

Me,

Why don't you stay home and relax and she go to see her dad with the kids?

It's two hours away. Two hours in the car with kids is work.

You sound pretty selfish to be honest. You're not the only Dad in the world. Your wife has her own father and she's married to one, that's two dads in her life so if anything this day should be about her.

If it makes you feel better, I've gotta go to my father in law's Sunday as well.

It's on the water, and we're gonna go fishing. But that doesn't mean I have to like it (I'm gonna like it though. Shhhh don't tell anybody baw).

That sucks. I wouldn't want to spend that much time on the road, either. Call to invite her dad over.

He's probably too old to drive two hours without having to stop to piss 6 times.

I can summarize more quickly:

Mother's Day:
Me: (to wife): "Hey, while the kids are still asleep, how about I fix you breakfast in bed, and then we can be a little frisky afterwards?"

Wife: "I'll take the breakfast, but I'm not frisky this morning."

Father's Day:
Me: "Hey, it's Father's Day. How about some friskiness this morning?"

Wife: "I'm tired and exhausted."

That's when you walk out, and come back with this:

Also, stop saying the word frisky when trying to get laid. That will help. All I can do is picture Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys
