if the mother files a motion, they have to act on it whether it's dumb or not. i don't think they can throw it out of their own volition.

Prosecutors can throw out any case they want for any reason they want at any time they want. They have absolute discretion in how to spend their resources. And this tard pursued this case.

my bad. never been involved with any of this sort of frivolity, so it's something i don't mind be ignorant of.

Unless for some reason it's different in Texas. I've never heard of a jurisdiction that requires prosecutors to purse cases it doesn't want to pursue. This is why prosecutors need to have common sense and integrity but too many just mindlessly pursue a conviction.

My child will not have a cellphone until they're able to drive, and at that point, they'll be responsible for their part of the bill and their car insurance if they want to drive and have a cell phone. I'll buy their first car and cell phone, but that's as far as it goes. That's roughly $200/month, which translates to less than 10 hours/week @ minimum wage.

The real problem here seems to be this dude's ex-wife (hopefully, it is an EX wife).

Better not piss off her mom, she'll have you sent to jail for taking away your daughter's blankie.

It's called malfeasance in office. He used his authority and connections to have this guy arrested. It has zero to do with me being falsely accused although there are some parallels

This is a stupid case that should have been resolved in a adult manner, but by reading that article how do you get that the current husband did anything at all besides marry a bitch?

IDK. Is there a law that a parent is entitled to anything purchased for their child? Would you have the same opinion if he had confiscated a car purchased by the other parent. He didnt own it.
I agree with his parenting and thinks its criminally insane that this went to court and the man spent time in jail. But technically...

The misspelling of words really upsets some of you people.

I don't blame the father for taking the phone away, but you can't just keep it after that. The mother paid for it, and he refused to give it back. That is theft.
