I understand this, however obviously he doesn't want his daughter having a cell phone given what he saw happening..
It's a shame when parents can't work together. Obviously he doesn't trust the mother.
Some parents break stuff of their kids (not saying I agree with it) as a way to get their message across they won't tolerate certain things.
I just hate that the parents can't come together to parent here.. Regardless it does no good having the father arrested over it.. At least the father cares enough to discipline his child. I don't know what he saw on the phone, but at least try to put yourself in that position..

[ some females just cannot do law in their brains very well, that's why fathers were traditionally the disciplinarians ]
