He's been let free now. Get with the news, or I'll take away your phone.

Then your butt virginity!

The father went to court and successfully fought the citation involving his now-15-year-old daughter.

Jackson also kept the cellphone.

after reading it sounds like the mother is being a vindictive biatch, and the father is smiling because of how ridiculous it is. Poor girl probably accepted that her father took the phone, but the dumb mother being dumb saw it as a "power play" against her.

Selfish woman.

The mom seems like a real count. The daughter is following in her footsteps. The catch here is that the dad hasn't been in her life the whole time. I am curious as to why, they didn't get into that, but it could be why the mom and daughter are the way they are, or it could be why he wasn't more involved through her life. Either way, it's about as dumb as you can get on their part. I am obviously on the dad's side here.

This would be dumb if he actually gave the phone back to the mother, who did actually pay for the phone. However, I'd be pissed off too if I paid for my child's phone and then my ex-spouse took the phone from the child and not only refused to give it back to the child but to me, who pays for the phone.

It'd be akin to you buying your child a car, and then they visit your ex-spouse (their other parent) and they "ground" them by taking their keys for whatever reason. Sure, the parent can ground them all they want, but if you, the legal owner of the car, comes asking for it they can't say sorry I'm keeping it.

i have a former acquaintance whose ex did the exact same thing. father took away his tablet while he was staying with him and the bitch confronted him at a baseball game he was coaching. she had cops there at the field, came running up to him in the dugout while he had bat in hand and he pushed her out. she just pointed at the cops and they arrested his poor arse.

she went for assault with a deadly weapon and theft. got neither, but it was a freaking headache for that dude.

Well the details are more interesting. Daily Mail article

The husband of the mother is a Grand Prairie police office. And the city attorney dismissed the original charge and then recharged him with a tougher crime.

quote:

Three months following the 2013 phone incident, the father was sent a citation in the mail for theft of property less than $50 in value, a Class C misdemeanor, according to WFAA.

Jackson, who was offered a plea deal in January 2014 if he returned the phone, hired a lawyer and requested a jury trial.

The city attorney's office requested for the case to be dismissed and refiled the case with a harsher offense, a Class B misdemeanor, punishable to up to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine, WFAA reported.

A warrant was issued for Jackson's arrest and he was taken into custody at his home in April 2015 before he posted a bail of $1,500 to get out of jail, according to his lawyer, Cameron Gray.
