My high school girl friend told me she knew she didn’t love her husband the first night of their honeymoon. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this past January, so define “fail”.

Some people just have an ability of putting the future of their family before their own desires or happiness.

Less than 2 years. Doctorate degrees. Solid families. Dated for 4+ years.

Have another buddy who’s wife left 6 weeks after honey moon.

I don’t know how legit this is given the circumstances, but this girl a bit older than me from a nice family married a guy from another nice family. The problem: this guy was more gay than Ted Haggard. Like this level of gay.

Everyone warned this girl that this guy was super super gay, but she wouldn’t believe them. During their marriage, every two weeks, he’d go on a “camping trip” with some buddies where he’d be gone for the entire weekend with no contact. Turns out he was camping on Brokeback Mountain and the marriage dissolved within a year or two.

Yeah, a couple of co-workers have similar stories where the woman was by all accounts cool and turned into a raging whore after postpartum depression. Just absolutely nothing you can do.

Mine had a temper like Saddam Hussein. It was a nightmare. Total change in personality.

About 8 or 9 years ago (or so) a guy I went to high school with got married to a girl. Maybe three weeks later, he starts making Facebook posts about how his wife wouldn't have sex with him. He'd whine very publicly about how they waited for marriage to have sex. He said they didn't have sex on their wedding night. He said she was too tired. He said they had sex once on their honeymoon, and then she wasn't feeling well. Then they didn't have sex at all when they got back from the honeymoon.

The majority of the comments to the guy were about going to see a counselor and keeping his marriage problems off of Facebook.

He didn't listen.

After two weeks of posting about how his wife was getting pissed at him for posting on Facebook and how they weren't having sex, he posted he filed for divorce.

People were pissed AT HIM for giving up on their marriage so quickly.

It was fascinating. That's why it really stuck with me all these years. Not just that it was crazy to see someone be that open about his marriage problems, but the fact that literally everyone was blasting HIM for divorcing his wife who would not have sex with the guy.

Anyways, that was 5 or so weeks after their wedding day and they did end up divorced.

Similar story, but turned out great for this family. Guy and girl that I knew, dated all through school, and were waiting on marriage. My wife and a few of her friends were in the wedding party, and apparently the few days before the wedding, the bride to be admitted she was scared of sex. She had heard stories of the first time being painful, etc. She didn't want to have sex on their wedding night because she "didn't want to ruin" that day and what all it meant. One of the more drunk girls talked some sense into her, and said that if she didn't give it up after making this guy wait for 6+ years then she shouldn't marry him. They've got a whole house full of kids now and have been happily married for 15 years or so.

After my college girlfriend dumped me, I saw her huge wedding photo in the paper.

Months later I found out the groom no-showed at the rehearsal the night before. They tried to talk him down before the wedding but it was a no-go. No one thought to call the newspaper.

Nah. Grew up in Florida (didn’t go to UF, can’t remember where he went). Moved up here about 15 years ago.

I know a women who got divorced after 2 or 3 months. She had decided to break up with the guy before the wedding, but then decided she wanted the wedding. The guy’s parents were loaded and paid for everything. Everyone that knew both of them, except the groom and his parents, knew what was going to happen. That was probably the most selfish thing I’ve ever heard of. No surprise that she’s been divorced 3 or 4 more times since then, except she seems to be happily married now. Go figure.

2 months

Everyone that knew them knew the marriage was doomed, but 2 months was still surprising to most of us. They fought all the time, but I guess since they were both about to graduate college, they felt they had to get married.

She was either fricking someone else, was a lesbian, and/or using him for a green card. 99.99999% guarantee at least one of those 3 were why.

We got a friend of mine a personalized cutting board for his upcoming wedding. They called it off a few weeks before the ceremony but after we got the cutting board. It had both their names and the date of their wedding on it so it’s not like we could give it t one of them or even wanted to keep it. It was a great white elephant gift though

A guy I worked with had his wife give him divorce papers on their one year anniversary. They dated in high school and his dad owned a business so they had money. Took her a year of marriage to realize that his butt wasn’t going to be making a ton of money as a draftsman.

My cousin was 22 when she got married in a huge Catholic Church wedding, and the groom even changed his last name to hers. They got divorced after less than 6 months as she ended up sleeping with the best man.

She’s now 48 and the former best man 66 and they’ve been happily married 20 years. Her step kids are her age and became a step grandmother in her 30’s.
